EF#5 What Is BEC To You?

Finally I did it, run chasing into the update theme of #EnglishFriday, "What Is BEC To You". In fact, I just joined less one month ago, and unfortunately it was late to join in group WhatsApp.

BEC is like a new adventure comic for comic reader, an updated PES for gamer or beautiful island for traveller, so do BEC for me. When you love doing something like your hobbies, you learn and enjoy as well.

It's my first time joining #WritingChallenge, previously I wrote based in mood, but for this, I "force" myself to accept weekly challenge and write for it. It's so exciting and surely it's useful to upgrade my English writing skill. I'm now on progress preparing IELTS Test. As we know, IELTS is more complex but result more objective since it has own section test: listening, writing, reading, and speaking. I hone writing as well here through BEC #EnglishFriday.

I wish some next improvement for BEC:

1. There're more intense tutoring English writing skill (vocabulary or grammar)
2. Everyone has to correct (or give any suggestion) for another's post so we learned each other in change.
3. Scheduled meeting club sounds cool, doesnt it? Can't wait to make a new friend from BEC.

EF#4 Grab A Tool From Doraemon’s Magic Pocket!

Hahaha, Doraemon's virus is everywhere, even in this BEC. Accept the challenge!

If possible, I'd take Doraemon itself to accompany me rather than pick only one tool from his pocket. As mentioned in Doraemon's lyrics (Indonesia version), I desire many wants.

But the most I like is, "Pintu Kemana Saja", tool that I know most everyone also want it. I have been working in mining job site since 1,5 years ago. The location -although it's not remoted area- is far away from my hometown. It is located accross the seas, Kalimantan. Obviously, I was working there while my parents, family, friend, and partner (used to be my love partner) live in Java. I missed some moments: when my mother in her sickness, high school reunion, outside vacation, saturdate, premier box movie, concert, club meeting, etc. For that any reasons, I need Doraemon's Everywhere Door. I won't skip any moments. I could go easily and CHEAPER.

Then, answering my dream, I could go anywhere over the world anytime. Can you imagine that in the morning I'd have breakfast of best sushi in Tokyo, go to Old Trafford Manchester at noon for supporting my fav football club Manchester United, and closed by dinner under Brokklyn Bridge while seeing East River, New York skyline, and the Statue of Liberty. Aaaakkk, it will be wonderful.

Ok, let's back to the reality. Wake up, first. =D

EF#3 Gadget Affects Our Life

Yeay, it's the second week theme of English Friday BEC, "Gadget Affects Our Life". I should post on time next chance.

Nowadays, gadget is a kind of primer need as well as meal and housing. People  in various age use gadget in their life. Show me if you can find any society without gadget. It will be tough, I think.

To describe how gadget affects human life, I'd explain in short comparison of the era before and after the existing of gadget. The definition of gadget itself is widely numerous so I make it spesific as mobile phone and computer.

[Before Gadget's Era]
It took longer to communicate with people in far miles away from us. You needed to write a letter first then wished a postman to help you taking your letter into someone. Even, long time ago, you depended on a bird just to take your letter.

Everything was done manually, from basic activities like writing, counting, reading till spesific activities like trading, searching information, chatting, or gaming.

But, in that time, people were in high intense communication even it needed more effort, because they talked each other directly. Then, since eveything was not easy done, people appreciated every detailed process, and they got more comprehension. In that time, people was living depend in each other.

You got the point, didn't you?

[After Gadget's Era]
Life is significant easier because of gadget. I won't explain more what we can do with gadget, because we experience it, even I could post this blog because of gadget. In addition, gadget is manifestation of progressive intelligent of human.

Unfortunately, the headway of gadget isn't balanced to attitude of society. The sophisticated of technology obtains instant and selfish mental ill. Hardly to admit it, sometime we lost a quality relationship because of gadget.

Besides, the acceleration of news spreading in this era make us too lazy re-check the truth of information. We receive information -and easily we called it knowledge- from wide sources, both credible and uncredible source. We know a lot of matters but little of understanding. It's not for every people indeed, but commonly happen in society.

So, what I can conclude from this post is, gadget affects human way of life both in positive and negative side. After you know that facts, it's your choice how u use your gadget wisely.

EF#2 What Is Your Wildest Dream

For me, it's the most difficult theme for first three weeks joining #EF. I can't make up my mind what should I tell about wildest dream.

"Wild" in English-Bahasa Indonesia dictionary means liar, gila, sembarangan, sembrono. I rather choose "gila" as the meaning of "wild" in this theme. I'm curious why they use term of "wildest dream" instead of "greatest dream".

My wildest dream I think is, there is no war over the world. I call it wildest dream because I really know people will tell me a crazy person thinking impossible dream. But can you imagine that there is a world without war, whole of civil live in peace. U might see black man hold a white man's hand, the curly hair one hug the straight hair one, we live in time when a difference doesn't matter anymore. There will be warmth and healing in Gaza, Palestine, Burma, Afrika Tengah and all the war zones on earth. There is nothing to kill or die for. There is no district fight or self interest. So, what do you think about this my (wildest) dream?

Second,  I dream for travelling arround the world. I wish for visiting countries as many as possible. It's more realistic dream that I can try to achieve. Wish me luck. :)

EF#1 Word(s) For 2015

Based on this post before, I start to chase left themes for English Friday. Since BEC was just formed in 2015, the first theme of English Friday is dedicated for 2015, it is "Word(s) For 2015".

I leaved 2014 with so many dramatic scenes of life. I got pathetic surprise in (my) December. But, then I realized that my problems weren't as big as those. I could feel the presence of majesty of Allah.

I would start my 2015 with special word(s)

MOVE UP

When people pass the hardest of their life, they need to move on. The process of moving on is necessary to accept their past and start over new page. For me, it has to be more than (just) move on. I must go move up. It means being better, achieve higher, feel more precious moment in next future -2015-.

The second term of move up, I think, I want my 2015 is a year for me to close by Allah, the one and only God. It means that I should improve -me and Allah- relationship.

In my mind, when I desire a huge wishes, it's not right that I never asked Allah with a way of Allah wants from me. So, "move up" isn't just an effort to cure the pain, but it's to welcome a new of me.

I'll be stuggle.

Let's Join Blog English Club!

Setelah migrasi blog ke sini, frekuensi menulis meningkat, mungkin juga karena dipengaruhi suasana hati.

Berhubung saya sudah lelah menulis hal-hal resah, saya memutuskan untuk ikut #writingchallenge yang biasa diadakan komunitas blog. Kali ini saya mau ikut Blog English Club karena saya terhitung telat join jadi cuma bisa berpartisipasi di program English Friday-nya. Langsung ke tkp link untuk tahu lebih detil tentang BEC dan program #EF-nya.

Intinya, setiap minggu akan ada tema khusus untuk postingan blog, syaratnya harus ditulis in English. Nanti blog terpilih wajib untuk melakukan recap dari seluruh postingan member BEC. Tujuannya jelas untuk mengasah English Competency (utamanya, Writing Skill).
